Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
CBT has a strong evidence base and is the recommended by the NHS for a range of problems including anxiety and depression. The NHS Choices website describes CBT as “a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave”. Read more about how CBT works via the NHS site here. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/cognitive-behavioural-therapy-cbt/
CBT can help you to focus on how your thoughts and actions influence the way you feel. I can work with you to develop skills and strategies to help improve mood and a range of anxiety disorders.
CBT is shown to be an effective way of treating a number of mental health difficulties. The focus is reviewing your current problems, whilst acknowledging your past but helping you to move forward.
Before re-training as a qualified Counsellor & Psychotherapist I worked for over 20 years in the public sector enabling behaviour change.
